A warning from the PSNI to self-styled 'paedophile hunters' after an assault on a man targeted as an alleged sex offender
Warning from PSNI to self-styled 'paedophile hunters', Britain First Belfast City Hall stunt and the story of a man who was a bomb analyst during The Troubles in Northern Ireland.
They're the self-appointed protectors of children but is it time to crack down on the so called 'paedo-hunters'?
Recently one of the people accused under their version of justice took their own life.
Now - loyalist paramilitaries have attacked alleged paedophiles who were "outed" by one of these groups.
A Belfast law graduate has contacted this programme.
He is calling for new legislation to curb the actions of paedophile hunting groups after he was mistaken for being an alleged sexual predator by people on social media all because he shared the same name as one of the group's targets.
He told The Nolan Show how a man with the same name as his had been accused of being a paedophile and had been targeted by one of these groups
in a Facebook LIVE video.
A video showing 'Britain First's' deputy leader making a statement while sitting in the Lord Mayor's chair is being investigated by Belfast City Council. The video of Jayda Fransen, in which she wears council robes, was posted on the far-right group's Facebook page. Ms Fransen, who faces trial here on alleged hate speech charges, had her visit to City Hall facilitated by independent unionist councillor Jolene Bunting. Councillor Bunting says she believes she has done nothing wrong... We did invite councillor Bunting on to the show this morning but she was unavailable...
A Belfast City Council spokesperson said: "Council has been made aware of the video post and is currently looking into the circumstances. The usual procedures for those wishing to film or use council premises were not followed. We received no request nor were we made aware of these plans."
Plus, an extended interview from Vinny Hurrell's Monday night programme, a man who worked for many years analysing bombs in Northern Ireland tells Vinny of the horrors he witnessed during The Troubles.
