Shaun and the Three Wise Brians
Recorded at the Royal Observatory, Shaun welcomes Brian Eno and Brian Cox to the show to discuss the music and events of 2017. Plus Brian Blessed joins to pose the boys a question.
Recorded at the World Famous Royal Observatory Greenwich, Shaun welcomes friends of the show Brian Eno, Prof Brian Cox and special guest Brian Blessed for a year end review. Last year Eno, Cox and Keaveny spent last Christmas in a pub in Central London discussing everything from Music to Science and Politics. This year we've recorded their chat at The Royal Observatory, Greenwich which played a major role in the history of astronomy and navigation, and is best known as the location of the prime meridian, giving its name to Greenwich Mean Time. Shaun will discuss with the wise Brian's the music choices that have inspired them during 2017 as well as projects they've worked on and their own unique look back on the news stories of 2017.
Eno and Cox are close friends of the programme with Brian Cox having joined Shaun each Tuesday for a weekly science chat since 2009. Brian Eno and Shaun first met at Eno's John Peel lecture in 2015 where the great man outed himself as a long time listener to the Breakfast Show. Eno then joined Shaun earlier this year for Shaun's 10th anniversary on the Breakfast Show where he delivered a home made ambient cake.
Also - special guest Brian - Brian Blessed joins to ask both boys a question from his incredible brain.
Shaun says - "The second cup of tea, can it ever be as good as the first? No. Science has proven it. BUT our now-annual Christmas meeting of minds with BRIANS Cox and Eno WILL be even better than it was last year!! GUARANTEED! For a start we've changed venue from upstairs in a pub to the epicenter of astronomy and navigation, the Greenwich Observatory, and secondly, the boys have spent yet another year cruising around the sun, collecting stories, experiences and thoughts to share with us at 6 Music. Please join us, along with a special mystery Brian, for a Christmas Celebration of Clever Craniums."
They join Shaun after 8am for this very special Christmas Day programme.
