Mary Anne is joined by spoken word artist and musician, James Massiah.

James' first poetry performance was in church at the age of 12. He has since gone on to collaborate with the 麻豆社, Tate Britain, the Houses of Parliament and Nike.

His work is inspired by musicians including James Brown, Talking Heads and Kanye West, and themes of self-determination, mortality and religion.

This morning, he joins us to talk about the future of UK poetry, and recites a new poem he penned for National Poetry Day on Thursday 28 September 2017.
