Report finds almost half of LGBT pupils in NI experience bullying at secondary school
Commissioned by the Department of Education the report covered experiences of LGBT pupils. Also on the programme, breaking news of an explosion at Parsons Green tube station.
Two-thirds of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people in Northern Ireland do not feel welcomed or valued in their post-primary school. And almost half had also experienced bullying as a result of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Those are two of the key findings of research into experiences of LGBT pupils commissioned by the Department of Education. The report was completed last year but has just been published.
