Stories
Guernsey - Part One
9th May is Liberation Day on Guernsey. We join Molly Bihet at the German Occupation Museum. She was 8 years old when the Germans invaded Guernsey and she tells us what life was like during those difficult years.
Sally visits The Little Chapel, which has recently re-opened after a restoration.
Guernsey Cows and Ice Cream
Sally samples Guernsey ice cream made on the farm and talks to Jim about Guernsey Patois, a language that is rarely spoken now but was once the first language of the island. He introduces Sally to his 107 year old aunt, who can also speak Patois.
Birthplaces - Catholicism
Richard Taylor is in Kent on the trail of the very first missionaries to the UK as he explores the birth of Catholicism here.
Guernsey - Part Two
The Rev. Richard Bellinger runs the Caritas Community Caf茅 in St. Peter Port. It's a caf茅 that brings together the vulnerable in the community and where some volunteers and staff are ex-offenders. We join Richard at his weekly cookery session inside Guernsey prison and hear from the prisoners about how the class is helping them on the journey to rehabilitation. We also speak to Stu who met Richard at one of the prison cookery classes and, following his release, now works at the Caritas Community Caf茅 as a chef.
