Rutland Family
Mum Julie has dreamt of living in Australia ever since a fun holiday in her youth. She believes now is the right time to go but can she convince reluctant husband Dan to follow?
After a trial week in Perth, Australia will the Rutlands choose to make the move to the other side of the world for good?
Mum Julie has dreamed of returning to Australia for good ever since a fun-filled trip to the country in her youth. Now married and with three children, she believes the time to emigrate to the country is finally right.
Originally against such a move, Dad Dan went along with his wife's idea - having become fed up working on wet, miserable building sites. But with the family's visa granted, Dan’s developed a serious case of cold feet - seeing a move as an unnecessary risk, and he’s also worried about leaving his Dad behind in the UK.
Will a trial week spent in Perth see Dan won over by the country he's never visited?

Rutland family update
The Rutland family still love life in Perth. Â Julie has started her first teaching job having completed her year at University.
They had found surviving on one wage quite tough so are looking forward to being more financially secure this year – and Julie loves her job.
Now Julie is back at work, it’s possible for Dan to look at starting up on his own which he is very excited about and the family have plans to buy a house towards the end of the year.
The Rutlands are making the most of the Australian weather and have bought a boat! They have enjoyed going out on lots of river trips, fishing and exploring. They were recently treated to a visit from Julie’s sister.
