There has been mud-slinging between the DUP and Sinn Fein as to who is to blame for the collapse of the Stormont talks. Arlene Foster said Sinn Fein was "not in agreement-finding mode" while the Michelle O'Neill accused the DUP of not having the "right attitude". Secretary of state James Brokenshire yesterday warned there will now be a "short window of opportunity" to strike a deal over issues like the Irish language and the legacy of the Troubles. If they don't, he faces a tough decision over direct rule or another election.
