Exoplanets, Bad Catholics and Losing Senses
Life on three other planets? Does that change the Christian interpretation of the universe? Plus a Marine Society and Sea Cadets appeal.
Life on three other planets? Does that change the Christian interpretation of the universe? Astronomers have detected a record seven Earth-sized planets orbiting a single star and three of them are within the conventional "habitable" zone where life is considered a possibility. If life does exist there, what, if anything would it mean to Christian views on God and the Universe?
Also, "better to be an atheist than a bad Catholic" - Pope Francis has condemned those Catholics who he said lead a "hypocritical double life. "It is a scandal to say one thing and do another. That is a double life. There are those who say 'I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this and that association'". Reaction from Bishop Donal McKeown.
And a week in the life of a minister - The Reverend David Clements takes us through the daily ups and downs that members of the clergy face.
Includes an appeal on behalf of Marine Society and Sea Cadets.
