Newtownards, Drumnamph and Brackfield Wood
Anne Marie McAleese with the people and places that make Northern Ireland unique, including stories from Newtownards, Drumnamph and Brackfield Wood.
Tullynagardy in the hills above Newtownards is where Artist Andrew Cooke fine tunes his crafts and ceramics. Now his work, which is very much inspired by this place, has caught the eye of one of the top roots guitarists in the world, who is based in Nashville.
About 12 miles from Dungiven in County Derry is Brackfield Wood - where there is a plan to plant thousands of trees to create a centenary wood for the First World War.
On Halfgayne Road in Maghera lies the headquarters of Drumnamph Community Nature Reserve. It's a place that is very special to reserve managers Glen and Kelly Hann, and as Anne Marie found out when she visited, also boasts quite the vantage spot.
