Kidney Transplant - Part One
Simon has suffered with renal failure for over a decade and he has had treatments like haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and transplantation. During this time he has turned to his faith for patience and courage. We speak with Simon whilst he's having treatment and also to his wife and kids about how they deal with day to day living.ÌýThey tell us how their faith has inspired them to write a children's book to help others who may be waiting for a kidney transplant.

The children's book is available through Amazon and called 'H is for Haemodialysis: Volume 1'.
In Christ Alone
2016 is the 15th anniversary of the writing of the modern hymn, In Christ Alone. It was co-written by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend after their publisher suggested that they should collaborateÌýon a song. In Christ Alone was the No. 1 song reproduced in UK churches (based on the copy reports from the churches themselves) for 9 years between February 2007 and September 2016. In autumn this year, CCLI UK published the latest list of top songs, and In Christ Alone had been 'toppled' from the top spot by Matt Redman's 10,000 Reasons.
Back in 2013, Songs of Praise conducted a nationwide survey. Tens of thousands of people voted for their favourite.ÌýFrom a list of one hundred hymns, the most popular was How Great Thou Art with In Christ Alone coming second place. The top ten hymns featured in a special edition of the Songs of Praise Big Sing that was broadcast on Sunday 27th October 2013.

Kidney Transplant - Part Two
Darren has suffered with a kidney failure from birth. In his mid-30s a chance meeting with Lee instigated a friendship that would lead to Lee offering to donate one of his kidneys to Darren. (Known as Altruistic Donation). Lee did something incredibly generous and humbling. We meet both men as they discuss the journey they both went through and why whenÌýLee heard a 'voice' telling him what to do, he listened and in doing so, gave Darren the chance of a life he never thought he would have.
