Sister Rita makes it her mission to show the locals how to eat well on a budget and launches a cookery course to help them make the most of what they get from the food bank, using ingredients from the allotment. Also, as Sister Rita tries to help one of the regular visitors to the Lalley tackle his debt, she has to keep him away from a dangerous situation. And, as she catches up with old friends at her convent, she reveals how a struggle of her own has helped shape the determination that has motivated her ever since.
