Episode 3
Music programme featuring sessions from contemporary and classic artists. Guests include Barry Gibb, Norah Jones, Slaves, Declan McKenna, Lisa Hannigan and Wiley.
Joining Jools on the third show of the series and making his Later... debut is singer, songwriter, producer and of course Bee Gee Barry Gibb, who will be performing a track or two from his upcoming second solo album - and first for 32 years - In the Now, which he co-wrote with his sons Stephen and Ashley. Barry and his band will also be treating us to one or two Bee Gees classics.
Returning to the show is Norah Jones, who is on the cusp of releasing her sixth solo album Day Breaks, which has been described as a kindred spirit to her breakout debut Come Away With Me and finds her returning to the piano and her roots.
From Kent, Laurie Vincent and Isaac Holman, aka Slaves, the punk duo who made a splash last year with their debut LP and quickly gained a reputation for their explosive and energetic live performances. They rip through a couple of numbers from their second studio album Take Control, which was produced by Michael "Mike D" Diamond.
From Hertfordshire, singer-songwriter Declan McKenna won the Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition in 2015 and has since been making waves with his catchy songs and songwriting that tackles taboo subjects such as corruption and religion. He will be performing a couple of tracks from his soon-to-come debut album.
Performing solo, songwriter Lisa Hannigan has just released her third album At Swim, which sees her classic soaring vocals and rich yet sombre songs framed together with production by The National's Aaron Dessner to great effect.
Also in the show is East Londoner Wiley, who over the years has been influential in the fields of jungle, drum and bass and UK garage but is probably best known as a key player in the creation of grime. He performs a track from his aptly named upcoming album Godfather.
