South West Fish
Creative culinary competition. Returning chef Josh Eggleton is hoping to impress with an original take on bolognese, one of six elements in his complex fish dish.
Great British Menu is back and 24 of the nation's top chefs are competing to create the most contemporary cuisine. The prize is to cook at the ultimate banquet held at the Palace of Westminster in the year the nation celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday. This year's challenge is to produce dishes that are a lasting legacy to the new Elizabethan age. They must showcase the transformation in British cuisine during the Queen's historic 64-year reign.
There are some exciting dishes on the menu as the three chefs from the south west of England - a region renowned for its seafood - tackle the fish course.
Returning chef Josh Eggleton is hoping to impress with an original take on bolognese, just one of six elements in his complex fish dish. Jude is using lobster from his Cornwall home and Chris is getting very imaginative with mackerel. When it comes to judging, the chefs are feeling under double pressure after a surprise guest joined the kitchen yesterday.
