Bake Off, First bionic Olympics, Rental energy changes
The woman paid to predict baking trends by watching The Great British Bake Off. And landlords say new requirements to improve energy efficiency will increase rents.
How to predict the next baking trend? Watch The Great British Bake Off of course. After the first baker is booted off the new series, we speak to a woman who watches more keenly than most. Anastasia Duncanson predicts what ingredients we'll be buying by the weekend so the supermarket can be fully stocked.
You and Yours meets the British teams preparing for the very first bionic Olympics this Autumn. Called the Cybathlon, disabled competitors will compete using cutting edge robotic technology. Forget the race track, they'll be using powered wheelchairs to negotiate stairs and prosthetic arms to cut bread and put out the washing. Melanie Abbott asks the teams of scientists and participants why they are taking part.
We cut through the confusion around Help to Buy ISAs and how you can use them to buy your first home.
And landlords say that new requirements for the energy efficiency of rental properties will increase rents. From April 2018 it will be illegal for landlords to rent a property with the worst ratings. Mike Young visits a property that's being made more energy efficient, at a cost to future tenants.
