How good is your maths?

Probably not quite as good as our guests on Science Caf茅 this week. Profs Gert Aarts and Biagio Lucini聽are the organisers behind Lattice 2016 - a major, international conference on particle physics being held in Southampton this month. Their colleague at Swansea University, Prof Simon Hands, is organising a satellite conference in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) to follow on.

The three are members of the pioneering, Particle Physics Theory Group at Swansea University,聽who press聽their聽expansive mental agility to the tiniest matter聽and make sense of mind-boggling calculations.聽Together they guide Adam through their world of聽quarks and聽 gluons, which make up hadrons like protons and neurons,聽and聽explain聽how 'QCD' works.
