In 2015, Andy Murray inspired the British team to the first Davis Cup triumph since 1936 by beating Belgium in the final. Murray may well be involved in the day's doubles match, having partnered his brother Jamie to three wins out of three in 2015's competition.

Japan produced a fightback against Colombia in September to preserve their place in the elite World Group but they have lost their last three doubles matches.
