Dave Howes fell in love with Australia on a previous trip as a single man, and wife Laurra has been living with his obsession ever since they met. In 2013, he was convinced the country was the best place for his young family to grow up, but Laurra was terrified at the thought of moving so far from everyone she loved.
A trial week living on Australia's Gold Coast showed Dave the reality of life in Australia didn't always live up to his holiday memories. So two years later, is it the UK or Australia the Howes call home?

Howes update
The Howes remain in the UK, and have had an emotional few months since we revisited them. A family member was diagnosed with cancer before Christmas which shook the family up, but thankfully the prognosis is good and all things look positive for a good recovery.
Laura has got her shop up and running and the family are waiting for their house sale to go through.
