Gormusoglu Family

Episode 2 of 24

Series in which families try out life overseas. If mum Adrienne had her way, her family would be moving to New Zealand tomorrow, but husband Ismail is blocking the move.

In what he jokingly calls a real-life Shirley Valentine situation, Ismail met his future wife Adrienne when she stayed at his B&B in Turkey. Now living in the UK, and with three children, they have an up-and-down relationship at the best of times, which has only been made worse by Ismail refusing to take Adrienne's dreams of moving to New Zealand seriously.

If she had her way, the family would be on their way down under tomorrow, but Ismail just isn't convinced life would be better on the other side of the world. He has already moved countries once, and is concerned about the practicalities of finding work at his age and the cost of emigrating.

Adrienne thinks that, once her husband sets foot in the country, she will be able to change his mind on a move - but is she right?
