Â鶹Éç ALBA – Sianail na Gàidhlig?

Â鶹Éç ALBA – Sianail na Gàidhlig. Ach an e? Airson còrr is bliadhna a-nis, tha buidheann iomairt air a bhith a’ càineadh an t-sianail airson a bhith a’ cleachdadh cus Beurla – ann an guthan agus ann an fo-thiotalan. Tha Â鶹Éç ALBA air a bhith a’ cumail a-mach gu bheil iad a’ cleachdadh fo-thiotalan sa Bheurla is guthan sa Bheurla airson luchd-amhairc nas fharsainne a’ ruighinn is a shàsachadh. Tha GAIDHLIG.TV ge-tà ag ràdh gu bheil Â鶹Éç ALBA a’ seachnadh seirbheis cheart a thoirt dha na Gàidheil. An t-seachdain sa tha Darren Linc ag aithris air a’ ghnothaich.

Â鶹Éç ALBA – The Gaelic channel?

Â鶹Éç ALBA – The Gaelic channel. But is it? For over a year now, a campaign group has been criticising the channel for using too much English – both in its content and in subtitles. Â鶹Éç ALBA contends that its English language content is part of its drive to reach a wider audience than Scotland’s 57,000 Gaelic speakers. However, GAIDHLIG.TV say the channel hasn’t been providing a proper service for Gaels. This week, Darren Laing reports on the issue.
