Father, Hear the Prayer we Offer
Reading: Galatians 5: 13-18,22-23a
My brothers and sisters, you were called to be free, but don’t let your freedom become an opportunity for your unreformed humanity. Instead, be each other’s slaves through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in a single saying, in ‘you shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ But if you’re biting and devouring each other, watch out that you aren’t consumed by each other.
I’m telling you: walk in the Spirit, and absolutely do not yield to the desire of the flesh. For the desire of the flesh is against the Spirit; that of the Spirit against that of the flesh; for they are opposed to each other. I don’t want you to be doing the things you don’t want to be doing.
If you’re led by the Spirit, you’re not under the law. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness and self-control.
