Kenya's Edna Kiplagat became the first woman to win back-to-back world titles by winning this race in 2011 and 2013 and is now chasing an unprecedented third successive world title. Kiplagat is likely to face competition from her Kenyan team-mates plus Ethiopian rivals such as Tigist Tufa, who won this year's London Marathon.
