Clinker boats in Fermanagh
For over a hundred years, up to about 1980, 40 skilled people from Fermanagh built, by hand, boats聽called clinkers that were a vital part of island living in that county.聽 It's an amazing story that Lough Erne Heritage group think is worth telling and Anne Marie McAleese joins Joan Nelson and聽Chairman Fred Ternan, both islanders and now next door neighbours, in Fermanagh.聽
Rare Breeds Show
The Rare Breeds Show is in Gosford Forest Park near Markethill, in County Armagh, where sheep, cattle, pigs, horses and goats are stars of the show.聽 Anne Marie McAleese speaks to organiser Kenny Gracey, who is in Armagh city, raring to get the event started!聽聽聽
The Eddie Butcher Festival
The Eddie Butcher Festival is a week- long celebration of the life an works of Magilligan's own traditional singer and songwriter, Eddie Butcher (1900 - 1980).聽 Celebrating his legacy, the event will retell and relive the songs and stories he is remembered for.聽 Anne Marie McAleese speaks to musician and storyteller, Len Graham who is hosting one of the events.
