Liz Kershaw chats to DJ and label boss Eddie Piller about Mod Week and the legacy of mod culture.
Liz chats to DJ and label boss Eddie Piller about Mod Week and the legacy of Mod culture.
Eddie was a key player in the Mod revival in the 1980's and in 1985 started the Countdown Records label. In 1987 he started Acid Jazz records with Gilles Peterson, which was at the heart of the then new Acid Jazz scene. He has also presented shows here on 6 Music.
There are a number of events taking place around the bank holiday weekend, and Eddie has curated a new album of Mod classics called 'Our Generation'.
Liz also gives listeners the chance to show-off their musical knowledge with themed tune suggestions and chats to a listener about their favourite album in All Killer No Filler, which comes from David Bowie.
