'The Travellers Guide to Love'
The dolmens and cairns of Strangford and Downpatrick in County Down are inspiration for a novel called 'The Travellers Guide to Love'.聽 Anne Marie McAleese talks to author Helen Nicholl, who settled in Holywood 15 years ago via South聽Africa, Zimbabwe and Belfast - but it was the ancient monastic site of Nendrum on Mahee Island that inspired her first book.聽
Donaghadee
It's a good time to be around North Down, there are coach tours, boat tours, walking tours and Christian heritage tours - all on the go in the next seven days.聽 Anne Marie McAleese talks to tour guide Paul Whitla and Judith Hammond from Ards and North Down Borough Council, who are both down by the Harbour in Donaghadee.
Cleenish Island
Cleenish or the 'slanting' island, just outside Bellanaleck is an ancient place - there was a monastery there where St Columbanus was a pupil, but next week the focus will be on 11 houses lived in by soldiers in the 1920's and 30's, who fought in the Great War.聽 Anne Marie McAleese will be talking to Marion Maxwell from the Local History Group.聽聽
