Sir Mark Elder continues introducing his choice of great symphonies from the Proms - this time it's Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, a masterpiece of devout musical gesture, reimagining religious rituals on a symphonic scale. Commissioned in 1930 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, it is performed by the 麻豆社 National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, conducted by Thomas Sondergard.

The programme also includes an additional performance in Mozart's enduringly popular 'Jupiter' Symphony.
