Canadian sound artist Tim Hecker chats about his music ahead of a UK tour. Loosely described as an ambient musician Tim discards the traditionally smooth production style to explore the intersection between distortion and melody. Over the last decade he has toured with Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Sigur Ros and collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never. His latest album Virgins moved away from the slow-moving textures of his previous records to a more propulsive and varied soundscape.
