Pennie Latin has ideas for using plums and kale, plus advice on grafting fruit trees and the benefits of companion planting. Also Dan Holland hears about Newburgh Orchard Group.

Chef Neil Forbes cooks live outside in the 麻豆社 gardens in Inverness with Pennie Latin and the Kitchen Garden team. This week he's using seasonal plums in a savoury dish and demonstrating that kale is ideal for late summer, not just as a winter veg.

In the second part of his visit to the Newburgh Orchard, Dan Holland speaks to Gerben De Vries about why the local orchard group was set up and what it does.

Gardening expert Frances Pringle offers advice on how to go about grafting fruit trees.

Richard Crawford from Hawthorn Allotments shows Pennie the flowers he has growing in his veg plot and Frances suggests the kind of flowers that work well in companion planting plus the purpose they can serve beyond looking pretty...
