Chris Stuart presents highlights from the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, which this year commemorates the Dambusters and the Battle of the Atlantic.
Veterans from World War II through to service men and women engaged in current military operations join with the audience at the Royal Albert Hall to give thanks and pay tribute to all who risk their lives in the service of the country. The Festival features spectacular music from the massed bands of the Royal Air Force and the Royal Marines, with special performances from James Blunt, Alfie Boe and Katie Melua. At the conclusion of the Festival, HRH The Earl of Wessex takes part in the service of Remembrance during which thousands of poppies are dropped from the roof of the hall, representing the lives lost in the two great World Wars, and subsequent conflicts.
Producer: Mark O'Brien.
