With Bob Stanley of Saint Etienne
Liz chats to Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley about his book Yeah Yeah Yeah: The Story of Modern Pop.
Liz chats to Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley about his book Yeah Yeah Yeah, the story of modern pop. Bob founded Saint Etienne in 1990 with Pete Wiggs and planned to use various vocalists, but after Sarah Cracknell sang on their 3rd single she joined the band, and they have remained a trio since.
Yeah Yeah Yeah tells the chronological story of the modern pop era, from its beginnings in the fifties with the dawn of the charts, vinyl, and the music press, to pop's digital switchover in the year 2000.
Listeners are given the chance to show-off their musical knowledge with themed tune suggestions, and Liz chats to a listener about their favourite album in All Killer No Filler.
