The speed dating night turns out to be a success for some of the residents of Albert Square but a nightmare for others. Will Ian crack under the pressure of his guilt?
Lucy's offer of help for the restaurant re-opening makes Ian feel guilty. Unaware of the reasons behind Ian's erratic behaviour, Lucy and Peter are both concerned. Denise suggests to Lucy selling Scarlett's might be the worst thing that could happen to Ian. It's Abi's first waitressing shift and Whitney's working too -after extracting an apology from Ian. The re-opening's a success and Peter's pleased when Lucy tells Ian she's not going to make him sell up. Lucy rings the bank to transfer money and discovers Ian's taken control of the businesses. Denise and Peter are stunned when Ian confirms it -all he's done is taken back what Lucy stole from him.
Roxy's thrilled when she finds Alfie's decree nisi. Kat takes part in the speed dating and Roxy's friendly, even asking her to help behind the bar. However, Roxy's unsettled when Alfie doesn't mention the decree nisi to her.
Kirsty attends the speed dating, she's hoping to make Max jealous but he's not there. Carl flirts with Kirsty and reminisces about happy times they had together. Kirsty visits Max but he's still adamant they're over. Carl flirts with Kat.
Shirley's short of money but promises Kim the rent by the end of the week. Kim, Shirley, Bianca, AJ and Tamar have no success at the speed dating. Drunk, Shirley demands her money back. Bianca helps Shirley home. Shirley reveals her benefits are being cut- she can't pay her rent. Distraught, Shirley wonders how she ended up like this.
At the speed dating, Jean attempts to avoid Ollie but is eventually forced to 'date' him. They bond and when Ollie later asks her out on a date, Jean accepts.
Dot has her doubts about the propriety of holding a speed dating event but is thrilled with the amount of money raised for the church.
