Sex Education 鈥 amendment to children and families bill
P鈥檚 voted in the Commons yesterday on the new Clause 20 of the Children and Families Bill 鈥 an amendment which would have made sex and relationship education a statutory part of the National Curriculum.聽 It failed 鈥 there were 219 votes for and聽 303聽 against. The shadow home affairs minister, Stella Creasey was one of three MP鈥檚 proposing the amendment. 聽She joins Jenni to discuss her聽 reaction to the vote and what happens next.

The image of the workhouse is usually that of a harsh Victorian institution made deliberately tough in order to discourage the so-called 鈥榰ndeserving poor鈥 from taking advantage of their shelter.聽 But a new exhibition at the workhouse at Southwell in Nottinghamshire explores life for women there in the Twentieth century when the building was used as a hospital, a children鈥檚 home, and accommodation for elderly women and homeless families.
