As a comedian Ardal O鈥橦anlon听toured the world as a successful stand-up.听 And as an actor he鈥檚 delighted audiences as Father Dougal in Father Ted; from My Hero to Big Bad World; from Robbie The Reindeer to Dr Who; from Skins to God Of Carnage, there鈥檚 not much he can鈥檛 turn his hand to.听 He鈥檚 currently appearing in Josie Rourke鈥檚 production of The Weir at the Donmar, which marks the first major British revival of this undoubted modern classic.

The Pajama Game at the Minerva, Chichester

Chichester rightly picked up three Olivier awards for Sweeney Todd. Now, although the main Festival Theatre is closed for renovation, in the Minerva studio they're reviving this 1954 American musical by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross about love in a pajama factory.

Another revival. This time of an Irish play by Conor McPherson from 1997 set in a rural bar. The residents sit around telling ghost stories trying to impress a newcomer, Valerie, who tells a true story that tops theirs.

This play by Cat Jones has picked up a clutch of awards at the Edinburgh and Adelaide fringe festivals. It's based on interviews with ex-soldiers banged up in prison and it's all about the problems servicemen face in civilian life.
