The anti-apartheid activist and former partner of Steve Biko, Mamphela Ramphele has launched a new political platform to take on the ANC in South Africa. It鈥檚 called 鈥淎gang鈥� which means to build. Woman鈥檚 Hour will be asking her what she hopes to achieve.听

Iraqi Director Parine Jaddo

鈥�Broken Record鈥� is a documentary film which follows a woman鈥檚 search for a song her mother used to sing to her as a child, recorded in 1960s Iraq, whose lyrics she cannot remember. This triggers a personal journey into Iraq鈥檚 musical and cultural heritage and the legacy of the war. The film is part of the , which marks 10 years since the US and UK led military invasion and explores the contribution of art, culture and creativity to Iraqi life in a time of conflict. Jenni speaks to the director about her journey back to Iraq in search of links to her mother.

听The Reel Iraq Festival runs from 21- 25 March in London and 8 other cities around the UK.
