The anti-apartheid activist and former partner of Steve Biko, Mamphela Ramphele has launched a new political platform to take on the ANC in South Africa. It鈥檚 called 鈥淎gang鈥 which means to build. Woman鈥檚 Hour will be asking her what she hopes to achieve.听

Iraqi Director Parine Jaddo
鈥Broken Record鈥 is a documentary film which follows a woman鈥檚 search for a song her mother used to sing to her as a child, recorded in 1960s Iraq, whose lyrics she cannot remember. This triggers a personal journey into Iraq鈥檚 musical and cultural heritage and the legacy of the war. The film is part of the , which marks 10 years since the US and UK led military invasion and explores the contribution of art, culture and creativity to Iraqi life in a time of conflict. Jenni speaks to the director about her journey back to Iraq in search of links to her mother.
听The Reel Iraq Festival runs from 21- 25 March in London and 8 other cities around the UK.
