Farewell Special
Mike bids farewell with a selection of his favourite ever folk, roots and acoustic tracks.
Mike bids farewell to Radio 2 by playing a selection of his favourite ever folk tracks.
Songs come from artists including the esteemed guitarists Martin Simpson and Nic Jones, and two young songwriters based in the North East of England: Emily Portman and Rebekah Findlay.
Jack-e McAuley's version of The Auld Triangle and The Unwanted's take on The Morning Blues also make Mike's final playlist, as do songs by Christy Moore and Lal Waterson & Oliver Knight, and a listener favourite by Roaring Jelly.
After nearly 15 years presenting the show, this special Boxing Day programme will be Mike's last on Radio 2. Mark Radcliffe begins presenting the new Folk Show on Wednesday 2 January 2013 at 7pm, with Bellowhead live in session.
