The CBI says schools are little more than 'exam factories' and an obsession with exam results is selling them short. Can school leavers cut it in the workplace?
Are teenagers ready for work when they leave school?
The CBI's not convinced. It says schools are becoming "exam factories" fostering the "cult of the average."
Its chairman SIR ROGER CARR, says pupils should be "rounded and grounded" when they leave.
Is an OBESSION with tests stopping life skills? Or do you NEED the rigour of the exam system to prepare for life beyond the classroom?
