Dean Spanley

Period comedy drama starring Peter O'Toole. In Edwardian England, a lonely son attempts to find common ground with his distant father through a surreal exploration of spiritualism.

Period comedy drama adapted from the novella by Lord Dunsany. Horatio Fisk is a cantankerous old man who refuses to grieve over the death of his son in the Boer War. His surviving son tries to work out why, but is defeated until he meets Dean Spanley - a man who may have had a previous life connected to the Fisk family.

Through a surreal exploration of spiritualism, the son comes to understand his father's background. Adapted from the novella by Lord Dunsany.
