Rona Lightfoot

Tha Rona Lightfoot a' taghadh leabhraichean air a bheil i measail far na sgeilp. Piper and singer Rona Lightfoot shares some of her favourite books with Catriona Murray.

Tha dà leabhar gu sònraichte air sgeilp-leabhraichean Rona Lightfoot a tha air leth prìseil dhi.

'S iad The Furrow Behind Me: The Autobiography of a Hebridean Crofter, sgeulachd-beatha bràthair a seanmhair, Aonghas MacIllFhialain agus Orain Luaidh Màiri Nighean Alasdair à Uibhist a Deas air an cruinneachadh le KC Craig. 'S ann bho a màthair, Ceit NicDhòmhnaill, Bean Eardsaidh Raghnaill, a bha ainmeil a thaobh an eòlais a bh'aice air òrain agus beul-aithris, a fhuair i na leabhraichean.

Airson cur-seachad, tha Rona dèidheil air sgeulachdan-beatha leithid We Die Alone: A World War II Epic of Escape and Endurance le David Howarth - leabhar a leugh i o chionn iomadach bliadhna ach nach do dhìochuimnich i a-riamh.

There are two books relating to her South Uist heritage that piper and singer Rona Lightfoot treasures. Both books belonged to her mother, the renowned Gaelic singer Kate MacDonald. They are The Furrow Behind Me, her great uncle Angus Maclellan's life story as told to John Lorne Campbell and Orain Luaidh Màiri Nighean Alasdair, waulking songs collected by KC Craig. Rona is also a fan of survival stories and Jan Baalsrud's story as told in We Die Alone: A World War II Epic of Escape and Endurance is one of her favourite books.
