With a live session from Devon Sproule
Cerys Matthews brings you eclectic music from blues to beats with poetry and a live session from Canadian-American Devon Sproule.
Devon Sproule joins Cerys in the 6 Music live room for a Sunday morning session. Devon's original music style shares elements of folk, country and jazz - a perfect blend to soundtrack your Sunday morning lie in. The 2007 UK release Keep Your Silver Shined rewarded Devon with critical acclaim and landed her a spot on Jools Holland.
The new album, I Love You Go Easy, see's Devon team up with a new production team of Toronto-based experimental pop trio The Silt and producer Sandro Perri.Sproule's 2007 UK release, Keep Your Silver Shined, proved a hit for her Coventry-based label Tin Angel Records. The album topped year-end lists, and landed her a spot on Later.with Jools Holland. Paste Magazine called it "The sexiest, sultriest southern album since Lucinda Williams' Car Wheels on A Gravel Road."
Rather than working with her usual collaborators, including husband Paul Curreri, Devon teamed up with Toronto-based experimental pop trio The Silt and producer Sandro Perri for her new album I Love You Go Easy, a sonically sparse but thematically rich collection of originals and covers, including tracks by Mary Margaret O'Hara ('Body's In Trouble') and The Roches ('Runs In The Family').
