The Boomtown Rats recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1982, feature on 6Music's Classic Concert presented by Chris Hawkins.
The Boomtown Rats burst out of Dublin in 1977 to become one of the most successful bands to emerge from the Ireland. Formed in 1975 and led by Bob Geldof, it took only two weeks for them to break in the UK with their first single release, Looking After Number One. Since then they've had a succession of hits as well as five best selling albums.
In this performance you can hear songs from their album "Five Deep" recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1982.
Sir Bob Geldof is also the subject this Sunday's The First Time with... at midday.
