Marc Riley entertains you with music, magic and Marnie Stern. He'll probably have a just for fun no prize involved competition too....
If you've been listening to Marc's show over the last few weeks you'll be familiar with the work of New Yorker Marnie Stern, whose latest album is out now on Souterrain Transmissions (and if you haven't been listening, we hope you've got a note from your mum).
Marnie's first album, "In Advance of the Broken Arm", appeared in back in 2007 and was lauded by the New York Times no less as "the year's most exciting rock 'n' roll album ". It was followed by the snappily titled "This Is It And I Am It And You Are It And So Is That And He Is It And She Is It And It Is It And That Is That" in 2008. Her third album however is simply called "Marnie Stern".
On it Marnie and long-time co-conspirator Zach Hill were helped out by Matthew Flegel (of Riley favourites Women) and up-and-coming mixer Lars Stalfors. Marnie describes the album as both "delicate and subtly layered" and "louder and fuller" than its predecessors.
