The young Russian pianist Yevgeny Sudbin has been hailed as one of the most important pianistic talents of our time. A chance today to hear him live at WIgmore Hall in a stylistically varied programme of two of Haydn's elegant piano sonatas, Liszt's "Harmonies du soir" from the fiendishly difficult "Transcendental Studies" , and Chopin's intensely beautiful Ballade No. 4 in F minor.
