Huey Morgan celebrates 6 Music's Sound of 1969. He chooses music from the year that reflects his New York and American heritage and that have influenced him as a musician. It wasn't all hippy folk and peace and love at Woodstock, Huey brings music from The Stooges to Bowie, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, MC5 and the Velvet Undergound.
Huey digs out archive about some of the key musical and social events that made impact from John and Yoko's bed-in to the first man on the moon, and the civil rights movement.
He has a special Sharing Is Caring plus talks to one of the characters from the most successful children's programme of all time, now embedded into American and worldwide popular culture, Sesame Street, which launched that year.
