The very best online tunes by undiscovered, unsigned and under the radar artists recommended by bands and listeners.
John Rivers is the music producer behind the no1 worldwide hit Ghost Town and his Woodbine studios have played host to Ocean Colour Scene as well as other pop luminaries. His focus today is on the exceptional music being made by emerging bands like Capulets and Atlum Schema and he joins Tom to talk about demos, records and killer mixes.
Plus session tracks by Southampton indie group Band of Skulls. The NME reckons "...killer tunes...a catchy combo of filthy riffs & Kills-esque boy/girl vocals." Their debut album, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey, came out on 21st September and the band previously scored an iTunes 'Single Of The Week' with the track I Know What I Am, which was downloaded by over 400,000 music fans worldwide earlier this year - an unprecedented success for a previously unknown band. They recently toured the US, including an appearance on Tonight with David Letterman and returned to the UK last month for a national tour. This summer has seen the band receive glowing reviews for their live show, most notably at Suffolk's Latitude Festival, where they were the pick of the Guardian's 'Must See' new bands.
