New zoo-owner Anna Ryder-Richardson and her husband Colin are under huge financial pressures. The stresses and strains of running their Pembrokeshire zoo come to a head in an argument over plans to bring white rhinos to Wales.

Colin comes last in the dad's race at sports day, and Tommy the tapir decides he is fed up with his old enclosure and escapes to the wild side of the zoo.
