Fresh from their headline slots at the Big Chill and Get Loaded, Orbital return for the third instalment of their 6 Mix residency with an exclusive '80s sampler' mix.
Fresh from triumphant festival headline slots at the Big Chill and Get Loaded in the Park, dance legends Orbital return for the third instalment of their 6 Mix residency. One of the most famous bands in the UK, Orbital had big hits in the 1990s with Chime and Halcyon and were well known for a string of show-stopping performances at the Glastonbury Festival. After a five year hiatus, brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll have have reunited for a sell out UK tour this month. For the third appearance on 6 Mix, the band - aka brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll - share some of the music they loved as teenagers growing up in Surrey inspired them to make music, including tracks by The B52s, Dead Or Alive, Tangerine Dream and Madness. There's also an exclusive mix from Paul Hartnoll in the last hour of the show made up of records created using 'expensive 1980s samplers', featuring tunes from ABC, Propaganda and Art Of Noise.
