Vic Galloway sits in for Marc Riley and is joined by Scotland's The High Plane Drifters, plus he has a quartet of Peel sessions to play.
Tonight is Vic's second night sitting in Marc's not so insubstantial comfy chair. He's bringing in The High Plane Drifters in to entertain. Plus he's got a quartet of Peel session for you! They are Stiff Little Fingers, The Lemonheads, The House Of Love and The Sultans Of Ping.
The High Plane Drifters are a Psychedelic Garage Blues two piece from Northern England consisting of Wesley Stephenson on Drums and Timothy Oxnard on vocals and guitar. Their self released output of Two E.Ps and an LP have sold around the globe. Although they have had interest from many major and minor record labels their LP was financed by the winnings of an award from the Performing Rights Society. They have also landed themselves a publishing deal in the United States with Hunnypot Publishing, and their music has featured in C.S.I Miami.
They have toured all parts of the British Isles and are now set to tour Europe and the United States after invites from promoters there including Chris Johnson from The Deep Blues Festival in Minnesota.
