The MP Ann Widdecombe reckons that without a second homes allowance Parliament would only attract rich people. Has she got a point? And does it matter if MPs - or indeed MSPs - go on to make a profit by selling on their second homes? It doesn't cost us any more, after all, but is that missing the point?
