In this new food series, guest celebrity chefs are on a mission to convert kebab lovers and curry addicts to good home-cooked food. The celebrity chef will visit a fast food fan in their own home and try to convince them that they can cook that meal themselves. They will also attempt to beat the takeaway on price, speed and of course, taste.
Italian chef Gino D'Acampo takes food seriously. Telling him that a takeaway can cook a better cod and chips than him was all the impetus he needed to get his skates on and head to Colchester to prove them wrong.
Postman Kevin Howard and his wife Wendy love their chippie. They order from local takeaway Henley's of Wivenhoe at least 3 times a week, and would never dream of making fish and chips from scratch, though have tried to make it from frozen on occasion, without much success.
Can Gino beat this award-winning chippie on price, speed and taste, and will he emerge with his reputation intact?
