Nine pairs of amateur cooks compete for the opportunity to go into business with chef and restaurateur Raymond Blanc. The seven remaining couples try every marketing trick possible to attract more customers, from balloon releases to free gifts. Many of these tactics misfire and the couples soon realise how difficult it is to turn a restaurant into a profitable business. The contestants also have to offer a special children's menu with entertainment, but some customers are kept waiting for hours.
