Episode 1
Warring families discuss difficult sexual issues using the techniques of Dutch sexologist Maria Schopman. The Hicks and the Garrattley families come under Maria's microscope.
For British families, sex is never an easy topic to discuss. So imagine having a full-on, no holds barred conversation with your mum and dad about exactly what you got up to last night. Worse still, imagine your parents giving you a blow-by-blow account of the kind of things they do to each other when you go out.
This radical programme employs the techniques of Dutch sexologist Maria Schopman who has come to the UK to help British families confront their sexual issues. She aims to increase trust in the family unit and shake off their embarrassment in talking openly about the subject of sex.
This programme introduces the Hicks family from Chesham and the Garrattley family from Manchester. 16-year-old Matthew Hicks' parents are terrified his endless stream of one night stands is going to see him becoming a father before he gets out of his teens. And things are so bad in the Garrattley household that 16-year-old Becky鈥檚 dad has already thrown one boyfriend out of the house.
Can Maria鈥檚 methods solve these family鈥檚 problems? The theory is that the more open people are, the less there is to hide and worry about. Which doesn鈥檛 mean it鈥檚 going to be any less awkward when Maria makes Matthew buy condoms with his dad, or Becky show her parents all the sex positions she knows with the use of toy dolls.
